Virtual schooling has forced moms to quit work. Moms with elementary school aged children have no other option but to stay home.with more moms unable to work do to home schooling it will effect families financially. The pandemic is a recession that is putting many moms out of a job.

In the workplace according to the Labor of Department Woman are the most under-employed in the labor workforce. This is due to moms having to stop working to take care of kids at home. Industries such as restaurants, salons, hotels and retail have shut down.

The cost of a babysitter or in person tutor is too expensive for most families to afford. Woman labor force participation has declined in 2020. Women are dropping out of the labor market especially mothers. Parents with elementary school aged children must decide on keeping the mother home.

Virtual learning has replaced in-person schooling. Child care providers and educators are not considered essential industries according to economist.

Virtual and hybrid schooling requires a parent to assist their child in learning at home. Public school to home schooling is the choice many stay at home moms must choose to make. Less household income now that moms are unable to go back to work.

Employers who provide child care services for their employees are stepping up to help parents, especially moms.
